5. QB Tyrod Taylor

The Giants have a very big question mark surrounding the quarterback position. Daniel Jones, who was originally supposed to be the team’s quarterback of the future, tore his ACL and whether he makes it back for the start of the 2024 season remains up in the air. Even before the injury, Jones was struggling as the Giants starter.

There’s Tommy DeVito, who has been made the Giants QB1 for the final stretch of the 2023 season. He’s 3-2 as a starter and is very much in the developmental stages, so he’s being fully looked at right now by the Giants coaches and developmental staff.

So, where does that leave Tyrod Taylor, who has been in for a handful of games in 2023 and spent over a month on injured reserve with a rib cage injury? Given the fact that DeVito was made the starter over Taylor and he wasn’t too thrilled about it, he’s likely not in the long-term plans.

GM Joe Schoen admitted that he still wanted to add a quarterback for 2024 because of Jones’ health and Taylor’s pending free agency, so with all of that, it indicates that the Giants do not see Taylor in the current and future plans.
