3 players the NY Giants must make room for on the final 53
1. Tight end Lawrence Cager
Last but not least, don't forget about tight end Lawrence Cager. In the tight ends room, there's plenty of buzz surrounding Darren Waller and rightfully so. The former Pro Bowl TE looked fantastic vs. the Panthers recently and people can't wait to see what he'll be able to get done this season. However, guys like Daniel Bellinger and Cager will need to step up.
Cager should make the team as tight end No. 3. The addition of Waller made things tough, but a tight end group of Waller, Bellinger and Cager could be a very dynamic group. We think Schoen will rock with three TEs for the 53-man roster, which means Tommy Sweeney, Chris Myriack and more won't make the final cuts.
Cager has developed as a dependable outlet for Daniel Jones in his time with Big Blue and along with Waller and Bellinger, he could be a mismatch nightmare. While it wouldn't be a total shocker if Cager is released, we don't want to see it happen.
Schoen needs to keep him around and not let another team try and snatch him up. Cager helped his chances on Saturday night by hauling in all three of his targets for 24 yards.
