NY Giants second-round pick: Duke OG Graham Barton

The Giants still have an extra second-round pick from the trade made to land Maye, so what better use of that extra pick than to get Maye some protection up front and get an offensive lineman. Graham Barton played tackle at Duke, but he is expected to slide in and play guard in the NFL. The Giants have two openings at guard in 2024, so if Evan Neal doesn’t move in to one of them, Barton would have first crack at it.

Barton is listed at 6-4 and 312 pounds and would be an immense help to a Giants offensive line that surrendered 85 sacks in 2023. Even if Neal doesn’t return to his tackle position and does slide over to guard, then the right tackle position is available and Barton could potentially play there if needed.

Barton is a Week 1 starter who will help out as a massive mauling run blocker and finishes his blocks to the whistle. The offensive line still needs major upgrades for the 2024 season and going after the Duke standout on Day 2 would be a smart move from Schoen.
