Week 2: NY Giants at the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Sept. 17
This will be another early-season matchup for fans to get excited about. Hey, if you're looking to hit the road for a contest, we hear Glendale is lovely that time of year. This is a very winnable game for the Giants, as Arizona is in a bit of a rebuild mode right now. Star quarterback Kyler Murray is coming off his torn ACL, while JJ Watt has retired.
It's still up in the air if DeAndre Hopkins will take the field for Arizona this season. It looked like he was going to be traded during the NFL Draft, but nothing happened there. The Cardinals are going to have a ton of ups and downs in '23, which will include a home loss vs. Big Blue in mid-September. NY should come out on top here.
Prediction: Giants 27, Cardinals 24
Week 3: NY Giants at the San Francisco 49ers for Thursday Night Football
After a road contest vs. the Cardinals, the Giants will have a quick turnaround and face the 49ers for Thursday Night Football on Sept. 21. This is not going to be an easy game for the Giants. San Francisco's QB situation may be a bit up in the air right now, but don't forget that they have arguably the best defense in the league.
On top of that, offensive playmakers in Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and more will be ready to put on a show vs. the G-Men in this one. We think that the Giants and Jones will be able to keep things close, but in the end, San Francisco will be able to pull away late, handing NY its first loss of the year.
Prediction: 49ers 21, Giants 14
