Joe Schoen is never done with the surprises, is he?! For a while now, there's been plenty of speculation regarding the future of stud linebacker Isaiah Simmons with the Arizona Cardinals, with trade rumors swirling.

Moving forward, he'll be wearing a blue jersey instead of a red one. In shocking fashion, Adam Schefter has reported that Schoen and the NY Giants have landed the 6-4, 240-pound linebacker. Make no mistake about it, this is a massive get for the G-Men.

NY Giants trade for Isaiah Simmons in a stunning move on Thursday

While Simmons has played both safety and LB for the Cardinals, he's going to line up at inside 'backer for the Giants. This makes a ton of sense, as NY has been working with both Micah McFadden and Darrian Beavers for the starting job alongside Bobby Okereke.

With Simmons now on his way to East Rutherford, the expectation is that he'll push for that starting spot - and win the job. The fourth-year LB is known for being a tackle machine. In 2021, he posted 105 total tackles and followed that up with 99 last season.

He also finished 2022 with four sacks. In the past three seasons, Simmons has appeared in 50 games, with 37 starts. No disrespect to McFadden or Beavers, but he will be a much better option for defensive coordinator Wink Martindale to line up with Okereke.

This also just adds to the sensational offseason Schoen has had too. The first major trade came with him acquiring Darren Waller from the Raiders for a third-round pick. So, you mean to tell us Waller and Simmons have been added for a third-rounder and seventh-rounder? Schoen is a total boss for these trades and fans are loving him even more right now.
