1. Chargers RB Austin Ekeler

Austin Ekeler is a very talented player, let's get that straight. However, the biggest mistake Schoen could possibly make this offseason is trading for him. We aren't entirely opposed to finding a Saquon Barkley replacement for next season considering the reports surrounding his unhappiness with the team, but Ekeler is not the answer.

Forget the fact that he is trying to leave a young, playoff-primed Chargers team to make a little more money - which is a red flag on its own - but trading for a worse running back just to pay them what would likely be a large sum of money is just ludicrous.

The Giants were hesitant to pay Barkley more than $13 million a season, and considering that Ekeler is looking for a monster payday, it wouldn't make sense for them to go after him over Barkley. Barkley is the better player too, plain and simple.

There is no reason for the Giants to bring in Ekeler while giving up capital when they can just select a potential Barkley replacement in this year's draft. They may not be better than Ekeler right away, but saving cap space and assets is far more important than anything else right now. In a perfect world, a long-term deal will get done with Barkley too.
