To put it simply, it was a night to forget for former NY Giants wideout Kadarius Toney. We don't want to celebrate his terrible showing, but goodness, he had just about the worst game imaginable for the Chiefs on Thursday night. Not even the NFL script writers could have put the pen to paper on this.

Toney had multiple drops, none bigger than a perfect Patrick Mahomes ball that went right through his hands and into the bread basket of Brian Branch - pick-six city and it was all Toney's fault. Chiefs fans were furious, but they had hope No. 19 would bounce back and remind them of the player they saw in the Super Bowl last February. That wasn't the case.

Kadarius Toney looked awful for the Chiefs in primetime vs. the Lions

In the fourth quarter, Toney had two more terrible drops. One came on third down in the red zone, leading to Harrison Butker being forced to take the field for a FG attempt, which he drilled through the uprights.

However, with the Lions up 21-20 on Kansas City, Mahomes was looking to make some magic happen late in the action. He put another perfect ball there for the taking for Toney to come down with. It would have been a huge gain. Instead, Toney dropped the ball and KC supporters were speechless yet again.

Had Toney made the simple catch, the Chiefs would have been in business to take the lead and put pressure on Jared Goff. However, the Lions ended up celebrating a monster upset in KC against the defending Super Bowl champs.

You've got to feel bad for Toney - oh wait, no you don't. He trolled Giants fans quite a bit this offseason and even tried to say his account got hacked once. Yeah, no one was believing that. Now, Toney is going to have to work overtime to try and regain Mahomes' trust.

Meanwhile for the Giants, they traded Toney for a third-round pick and a sixth-rounder. They turned around and used that third-rounder to trade with the Raiders for Darren Waller. Waller enters the new campaign with an unreal amount of hype.

He looked great in the preseason game vs. the Panthers, catching 3-of-4 targets for 30 yards. Don't be surprised to see him put on a show vs. Dallas on Sunday night. At the same time, don't be surprised if Toney isn't on the Chiefs roster by the end of the campaign. We're sorry to say, but he really was that bad on Thursday night.
