4 NY Giants who silenced their haters in the Week 11 win
By George Baker
3. Darius Slayton
The Giants have struggled to stretch the field and create explosive plays with Tommy DeVito at quarterback. Heading into Week 11, it was clear that something needed to change to give the Giants a fighting chance against a porous Washington secondary. A Giants pass-catcher needed to step up with Darren Waller still hit with the injury bug. Fortunately, Darius Slayton did just that.
Despite only playing one half of football, Slayton led the team in receiving yards and hauled in a 40-yard touchdown pass from DeVito. With DeVito getting comfortable as the starting quarterback, he must build a rapport with playmakers like Slayton. This touchdown was a thing of beauty, with Slayton finishing the score in style:
Slayton's abilities have never been doubted; however, his health and effectiveness on the field have. Now dealing with an arm injury that held him out of the second half of last Sunday's matchup, Slayton will look to heal up before the Giants host the New England Patriots at MetLife. Let's hope he doesn't miss extended time.
