1. QB Daniel Jones

What can we expect out of Daniel Jones? It will be essential for Danny Dimes to find a bit of a groove, as he's coming off a torn ACL. There is no excuse for DJ this season with an improved offensive line, which means more time to throw, and a new weapon in Malik Nabers, who has stood out already at training camp this summer.

It's still to be determined whether or not Jones will play in the preseason opener against the Lions, but if it were up to him, he would be out there. It'd be nice to see Jones out there for maybe the first quarter, but if Daboll sits him, then we'll have to wait until preseason Week 2 to see him in action.

Danny Dimes has played this offseason and has shown flashes of excitement with deep throws to Nabers, making him look good. Jones' career might be rejuvenated with the added help in the passing game. DJ targeted Nabers 17 times over the two days of joint practices, and 16 of those passes were completions to the 2024 first-round pick.

Jones has also been a leader on the field, protecting his teammates during scrums that broke out with the Lions in practice. It's safe to say No. 8 is entering this season with a chip on his shoulder and looking to prove the doubters wrong. Jones is using what happened last season as motivation to be better this year and has the support of Schoen, Daboll, and even Giants owner John Mara, who told the media he doesn't regret offering the contract he gave the veteran QB two seasons ago. Even if it's in limited action, seeing Jones look comfortable in the preseason will calm plenty of nerves ahead of early September getting here.
