2. Brian Burns

A talented free-agent edge-rusher that the Giants could pursue this offseason if they miss out on Williams or Allen is veteran defensive end Brian Burns. The two-time Pro Bowler has been with the Carolina Panthers since 2019, but will hit the open market this offseason and likely draw interest from several teams around the league.

With the Panthers rebuild ongoing and a new head coach and general manager recently hired by the franchise, Burns will likely want a change of scenery and be on the move this offseason. Pro Football Focus recently named the Giants as a potential landing spot for the veteran edge-rusher, and the idea of Burns joining the Giants makes a lot of sense.

Last season, Burns had 50 combined tackles (32 solo), eight sacks, 16 tackles for a loss, and 18 quarterback hits in 16 games. The five-year pass-rusher has been consistent and reliable off the edge since entering the league in 2019, making him stand out among this year's free-agent class. If he's available at the right price, Schoen needs to be in touch with his reps.
