Predicting every national TV game for the NY Giants this season
By Zak Musso
4. Cowboys at Giants on SNF to start the season
Every single year the Cowboys and Giants play one primetime game. Sometimes the second Cowboys and Giants game is in a 4:25 p.m. time slot. With the improvements of the Giants this offseason, the rivalry, and stakes of these games, will be at an all-time high.
The Giants have struggled against Dallas over the past decade, but with Daboll and Joe Schoen in charge of the Giants, their roster is finally comparable to their rivals. With the additions of Darren Waller, Parris Campbell Jr., and Jalin Hyatt, the Giants finally have offensive weapons that can put fear into the Dallas defense.
The Giants-Cowboys rivalry is bitter, and I expect nothing less in 2023. According to Brandon Tierney of WFAN, we might get this matchup in Week 1 for Sunday Night Football.
Cowboys in MetLife to open the season would be awesome. We would get to learn right away if the Giants have taken a step closer toward true contention. The stars would be on full display in this one. Jones, Waller, Hyatt, Saquon Barkley, Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Tony Pollard, Micah Parsons, and Trevon Diggs all on the same field.
The Giants-Cowboys Thanksgiving game in 2022 was the most watched game of the NFL regular season, so it's no surprise the NFL would want these two historic rivals in one of the most appealing time slots of the NFL season early on.
