2) Eagles QB Jalen Hurts
Jalen Hurts was magic in 2022, and he almost delivered the Philadelphia Eagles their second Super Bowl in franchise history. They would’ve had to figure out a way to make a Tush-Push statue to go next to the one of Nick Foles outside Lincoln Financial Field. Now that would’ve been an interesting challenge.
Unfortunately for Hurts, the NFL started to figure him and the Philadelphia offense out after a torrid start for the Eagles in 2023. After starting off as one of the best teams in the league, the Eagles flamed out over the final weeks of the campaign, and eventually they were beaten down by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the playoffs. After starting the season with so much hype, many were calling for Hurts’ job by the end of the season, a shocking twist indeed.
So, where do Hurts and the Eagles stand now? Well, he’s at least the second best quarterback in the division at the moment, but it remains to be seen whether or not he can stay there. With weapons like DeVonta Smith, A.J. Brown and the freshly-acquired Saquon Barkley, 2024 is a pivotal season for Hurts and the Eagles. They’ll need to rebound, or some tough decisions might be made.
