1) Cowboys QB Dak Prescott
Even with all of his faults, Dak Prescott is the unquestioned top quarterback in the NFC East, and a perennial MVP candidate in the NFL. Yes, his performance in the NFC Wild Card Round left a lot to be desired, and the Cowboys fell to the No. 7 seed in embarrassing fashion, but he’s a signal-caller capable of bringing you to the Super Bowl, and there aren’t many of those in the league.
Quite simply, Prescott would carve up defenses in 2023, even though Dallas had zero running game to speak of. With Ezekiel Elliott returning to the Cowboys, that might not improve in 2024, but with Prescott leading the charge, it’s evident Dallas believes in their passing game enough to get the job done. And why wouldn’t they? It was borderline unstoppable in 2023, just ask Wink Martindale and the Giants defense about that.
Moving forward, Prescott will need to have sustained playoff success to be mentioned in the same breath as some of the top quarterbacks in the entire NFL, like Patrick Mahomes and company, but he’s not in a bad spot at the moment. He’s likely headed towards becoming the highest paid quarterback in the NFL, whether that’s from the Cowboys or someone else. Barring a disastrous 2024, he’ll remain atop these rankings, unless he does in fact decide to move on from Dallas after this coming campaign.
