Re-grading the NY Giants 2022 NFL Draft 6 games into the new season
Round 3, Pick 67: Joshua Ezeudu, C-
Don't get me wrong, a lot of Joshua Ezeudu's issues this season are not entirely his fault. Not only was he likely not ready to start to begin with, but he was thrown in at left tackle, a position he rarely played in college and never saw a snap at in the NFL. Despite this, even when playing at guard, his natural position, Ezeudu still struggled greatly during his rookie season.
Maybe when Andrew Thomas returns, we'll see the Giants shift Ezeudu back to guard, which would help him a ton. However, we're still not entirely confident that he will be a starting-caliber guard this season.
Third-round picks are tough to grade, as while they aren't super late in the draft to the point where there are no expectations, they also aren't super early, so it's really tough to judge. Regardless, Ezeudu has been given the chances and hasn't been super successful.
Round 3, Pick 81: CB Cor'Dale Flott, B-
Cor'Dale Flott has played just 14 games thus far in his career and in these games he's looked pretty solid. He's been far from perfect, but Flott has had a few games in which he's held up well against some of the league's best receivers and this has us incredibly excited for his future. For example, when primarily matched up against A.J Brown in Week 18 of last season, he allowed just three receptions on seven targets for 29 yards.
While he missed the first three games of the season, Flott has since come back and been more than solid for the Giants. He may have struggled a bit against the Seahawks, but he looked sharp against the Dolphins and made some plays against Buffalo.
