The NY Giants doubters continue to blast the team after they fell to 1-3 on Thursday night in a 20-15 loss against the Dallas Cowboys. Many media members and fans have gone on record blaming Daniel Jones for every loss the team has had this season and stating that he is the clear-cut problem in New York when this loss wasn't entirely the veteran quarterback's fault.

Thursday's loss for the Giants came down to defense and special teams. The Giants' defense kept it close, managing to hold the Dallas offense to 20 points, an improvement from last year when they allowed 40 points in primetime in Week 1. The Giants did not score a touchdown in this game, but kicker Greg Joseph went five-for-five in field goals, with 52 yards his longest field goal. While the Giants didn't score a touchdown, Jones surpassed over 200 yards passing and consistently drove down the field to put the team in field goal range, but it wasn't enough to win.

When discussing the Cowboys' performance during the postgame show, former NFL cornerback and current analyst Richard Sherman stated that Dallas did not play well in this game where they should've blown out the Giants like last year. Still, they could get away with this performance because Jones was on the other side of the field, which was a complete slap in the face to the Giants and the veteran quarterback.

Richard Sherman believes Daniel Jones is the problem in New York

The Giants can opt out of Jones' contract after this season, which many believe Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen will do to open the door for a new franchise quarterback. Schoen has already attended many games this season scouting several college quarterbacks, whom the Giants could draft next year and bring in to replace Jones.

Daboll has been known as someone who can crack quarterbacks and has experience working with successful players like Brett Favre, Tom Brady, and Josh Allen. Jones was drafted by the previous regime led by Dave Gettleman, so it wouldn't be surprising if Daboll and Schoen decided it was time to move on and bring their own franchise quarterback in to develop long-term.

With a demanding schedule ahead, the Giants will face the Seattle Seahawks, Cincinnati Bengals, Philadelphia Eagles, and Pittsburgh Steelers over the next month or so. It will be important for the Giants to find a way to get in the win column with Jones under center. Fortunately for the Giants, the NFC East is not very good this year, and it's wide open regarding which team could win the division. Still, it won't only fall on Jones; the defense and special teams must continue to play their best, but the Giants will have to prove the doubters wrong on both sides of the field.
