Saquon Barkley of all people wasted no time congratulating new Giants draft pick

Just because he's no longer with the NY Giants, that doesn't mean Saquon Barkley has forgotten about his six seasons with the G-Men. Yes, Barkley is now in Philly with the Eagles, but he's always going to have love for the organization that took him No. 2 overall.

That much was made clear with Barkley reaching out to new Giants tight end Theo Johnson in the middle of the NFL Draft. With the Giants taking Johnson at No. 107 overall, the Penn State TE revealed to the media that Barkley sent him a text shortly after NY sent the pick in. Come on, this is great stuff.

Saquon Barkley texting Theo Johnson after the Giants drafted him is cool to see

Yes, the Giants and Barkley didn't end on the best of terms, as Barkley has 'revenge' on his mind for at least two games next season. At the end of the day, Philly gave him the kind of money that Joe Schoen wasn't willing to match. Saquon made a business decision, end of story.

However, you think he's just going to forget about the Giants now that he's with the enemy? He can't just erase the memories from recent seasons and he's of course going to want to see a fellow Penn State product have success in the league, even if it's now with one of his rivals.

With Johnson now East Rutherford-bound, the speculation continues to grow that Darren Waller will retire. Should that happen, which we expect, Johnson will be able to have a big role for this offense from Day 1.

He's going to have a lot of people in his corner rooting for his success. In a bit of a surprise, it looks like Barkley will be among the long list of folks who want to see him produce on Sundays - just not when the Giants and Eagles meet for battle, of course.
