He may be the longest-tenured NY Giants player and some gray hairs will be coming sooner than later, but Sterling Shepard can't still be a stud for this offense. Coming off back-to-back season-ending injuries, Shepard showcased that in a big way during practice on Monday.

Going 1-on-1 with rookie standout Tre Hawkins III, the young cornerback was hoping to make a statement going up against the veteran wideout. Yeah, that didn't happen. Instead, Shepard took this kid to school with a route that's probably going to keep him up throughout the night:

Sterling Shepard stole the show with an amazing play at NY Giants practice

If your jaw is on the floor after watching that play, we assure you that you're not alone. While this wasn't the best look for Hawkins, let's not forget that the sixth-round pick has looked great this summer and he's definitely in line for significant playing time this fall and winter.

With that said, man, Shepard really left him in the dust here. This is obviously amazing to see out of Shepard, as it's clear he hasn't lost a step. Brian Daboll and Mike Kafka must be thrilled that No. 3 is looking like his old self.

Fans are too. With how loved and respected he is by the Big Blue supporters, countless hearts were broken seeing him carted off the field last year with his torn ACL. This came after his torn Achillies the campaign before. This has all been brutal for Shep, but he's back on a one-year deal.

If he keeps on playing well and staying healthy, then he'll have a fantastic opportinunity to show out in 2023 and put his rough past two seasons completely behind him. This guy deserves all the praise he's getting right now, especially after all the adversity he's had to overcome.
