The thought of the NY Giants signing Russell Wilson may not be so wild after all. In one of the biggest surprises of the offseason thus far, Adam Schefter is reporting that the G-Men met with Wilson ahead of his next visit with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Wilson in New Jersey?

That was the case, and while Schefter is calling this an 'exploratory meeting' with Wilson, it has still raised a ton of eyebrows. The expectation is that Wilson will sign a one-year deal and that he's not going to ask for a huge salary. If the budget fits for Joe Schoen and Co., then this very well could end up happening. Will it?

The Giants bringing in Russell Wilson for a meeting has turned heads

Earlier this offseason when Wilson-to-New York speculation was brought up, everyone thought it was a joke. Now, though, it looks like Schoen could end up seriously considering this. Again, it will come down to how much Wilson wants, but he might be open to taking less money for the right situation.

Wilson was traded by the Seahawks to the Denver Broncos ahead of the 2022 season in a blockbuster move. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned for Wilson in the AFC West and Sean Payton didn't want anything to do with him moving forward.

Because of that, Denver decided to release Wilson and he's now looking for a new place to call home. It's no secret he's eyeing a big market - where would be better for him than New York? You think Ciara would mind heading to the Big Apple? Not at all.

Schoen said he was going to take a look at veteran quarterbacks in free agency and he's doing just that with Wilson. The former Seahawk/Bronco could come in and push Daniel Jones for the starting job. Something tells us Wilson would win that battle.

Wilson wouldn't be the long-term answer and taking a young quarterback early in the NFL Draft wouldn't be ruled out either even if Wilson is inked by NY. There's still a long way to go before a decision is made and more visits are on the way, but even meeting with Wilson shows that Schoen may not have the kind of faith in Jones he's been claiming he does.
