4 teams we hope blow it in Week 13 with the NY Giants off
Believe it or not, but there's still hope for the NY Giants to make a playoff appearance this season, but they'll need several NFC teams to lose in Week 13 and moving forward. After a challenging start to the 2023 campaign, Big Blue is 4-8 and is coming off back-to-back wins against the Commanders and Patriots, which means the Giants are on the bubble of clinching the last playoff spot in the NFC.
Many Giants fans are unsatisfied with this season's outcome and have already moved on to the next year. They believe that the team should tank to put Big Blue's front office in a great position to select a top prospect in next spring's NFL Draft. However, these Giants fans should be optimistic about this season.
Yes, it has been upsetting to watch the team underperform, but Big Blue may have a legitimate chance at making the playoffs for the second straight year of the Brian Daboll era if everything goes right. With that said, here's a look at four teams we hope to see lose, including one team rival that fans want to see blow it every weekend for that matter.
4. New Orleans Saints
The Saints sit two spots ahead of the Giants in the NFC Wild Card race. New Orleans is 5-6 this season and is second in the NFC South standings behind the Atlanta Falcons, who are also 5-6. The Saints are coming off a 24-15 loss to their divisional rivals last Sunday, which allowed the Falcons to move ahead in the playoff race. Now, the Falcons will face the New York Jets, where they will look to hold on to first place in the division and even their record to 6-6.
This week, the Saints will shift gears to the Detroit Lions, who have been a problem for many teams this season and are leading the NFC North. With the NFC South standings very tight and the Falcons slowly starting to pull away, this is a must-win game for New Orleans. The Saints were picked to win the NFC South at the beginning of this season, so a win for NOLA this week keeps those chances alive; however, a loss would allow the Giants to move ahead while on a bye week.
