1. WR Isaiah Hodgins

The Giants decided to keep six wide receivers on their 53-man roster, but left a significant name off the list in veteran Isaiah Hodgins. Giants fans are familiar with Hodgins, who has been with the team since 2022 and played a crucial role in New York's playoff run.

Hodgins caught four touchdowns in his last five regular season games and racked up 351 yards on 33 receptions. He also finished with eight receptions, 105 receiving yards, and a touchdown during the Giants' NFC Wild Card victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

Last year, Hodgins appeared in all 17 games, starting nine, and had 21 receptions for 230 yards and three touchdowns. While many may have expected the veteran to have a similar performance as the year before, the Giants offense struggled last year with several injuries and three different quarterbacks, which affected Hodgins' performance.

About 600 days after Hodgins starred in the Giants' playoff victory over the Vikings, he was cut by the team. Hodgins cleared waivers and re-signed with the Giants' practice squad. The Giants are invested in first-round pick Malik Nabers, veteran Darius Slayton, Wan'Dale Robinson, and Jalin Hyatt as their WRs room this season. The Giants also kept returners Gunner Olszewski and Bryce Ford-Wheaton on their 53-man roster, which leaves Hodgins as the odd man out.

While Hodgins did not make the team out of training camp, he will likely see the field in 2024. When the Giants suffer from injuries on offense this season, Hodgins will be one of the first names the team considers calling. The veteran has more experience than most on the Giants' practice squad, making him an easy candidate for opportunities.
