This play alone should result in reduced snaps for young NY Giants CB

There are no excuses for this lack of effort.

The anger hasn't reduced much for NY Giants fans. The Week 2 loss was devastating and an 0-2 start to the season is on the table for Brian Daboll and Co. With a brutal schedule on the way and the team's morale low, when will they be able to post their first win of the campaign? Your guess is as good as ours.

While there were some positives from the action, there were also some negatives. At cornerback, Cor'Dale Flott got the start at CB2 after he played Week 1 in the slot, a move that remains head-scratching. Flott showed promise throughout the summer, but he has been a liability early on in 2024. He had some frustrating reps vs. Washington, including this poor effort trying to bring down Brian Robinson Jr. This just can't happen:

The Giants lack of talent at cornerback is a headache for Brian Daboll

We don't want to put Flott on blast too much, but he simply had to do more than this to tackle a player of Robinson's caliber. Instead of the Commanders running back being brought down for a short gain, he broke free for a massive run. Safety Jason Pinnock was there to save the day with a touchdown-saving tackle, but that should have never been the case.

The Giants defense didn't allow a single touchdown in this one, instead forcing Austin Seibert to go 7-of-7 on his field-goal attempts. On paper, not allowing a TD is great, but defensive coordinator Shane Bowen's men also didn't force a single punt. You can't expect to win when that's the case.

Behind Flott, veteran Adoree' Jackson feels like a strong candidate to push for more playing time. Maybe he can even grab the starting spot from Flott for the Week 3 battle on the road against the Cleveland Browns? With NY winless this season, changes need to come on both sides of the ball. On defense, perhaps having Flott come off the bench should be the way to go moving forward.
