Evan Neal is back from his ankle injury and it didn't take him long to make NY Giants fans and head coach Brian Daboll quite upset. On 4th-and-inches on the opening drive, the G-Men were getting ready to go for it and try and build some momentum for the rest of the game.
Instead, laundry hit the turf after Neal jumped early, resulting in false start being called. Moments later, Jamie Gillan had to punt the ball away to the Raiders. This was a brutal error by the former first-round pick and Daboll was livid with his right tackle. Take a look for yourself:
Brian Daboll let Evan Neal have it for a terrible mistake vs. the Raiders
You don't have to be a professional lip reader to see that Daboll hit Neal with a 'what the f***' for his mistake. Neal has been known for his rough play this season, but fans were hoping that he'd be able to show some improvement vs. the Raiders now that he's healthy from his ankle issue.
The start to the contest could not have gone worse for him, plus the NY offense. Daniel Jones' first toss of the game went nowhere near Saquon Barkley. His second attempt hit the turf when trying to find Wan'Dale Robinson.
Sure enough, the Raiders took full advantage of Neal's mistake, as they drove right down the field once they got the ball. Jakobi Meyers scored on a long run, which was helped by a fantastic block near the goal line by Davante Adams.
Six plays, 67 yards, no third downs and the Raiders took a 7-0 lead. Things have been a mess for Las Vegas this week with the firing of Josh McDaniels, but they landed the first haymaker on NY. You have Neal to thank for that.
