This is a bit of a curveball. Following the release of Hard Knocks Episode 3, loads of people have been bashing NY Giants owner John Mara for how desperate he was to try and keep Saquon Barkley in town. Mara was pushing for Joe Schoen to make things work with the two-time Pro Bowler.

However, Schoen didn't budge and decided to spend money elsewhere. The clip of Schoen and Mara talking, with the GM telling his owner what he was being told, didn't sit right with some fans. As it turns out, Colin Cowherd wasn't happy about things either. He made that much clear by blasting Schoen for not providing Mara with enough info:

Colin Cowherd is not happy with the disconnect between Joe Schoen and John Mara

"I'm uncomfortable watching Joe Schoen there. Bro, you've got to have answers. "

During the show, Schoen's sources told him that the Bears were driving the price up on Barkley and that the Eagles were out. That proved to be terrible information, as Howie Roseman and Philly signed Barkley to a $37.75 million deal, with $26 million guaranteed.

Cowherd pretty much said that the Eagles and Roseman 'played' Schoen and the Giants. Now, we're all going to have to watch Barkley take on NY twice a season, with Cowherd confident that No. 26 is going to put up video game-type numbers against his former team.

Should that happen, it's going to be a rough look for Schoen. The GM decided to pass on overpaying for Barkley, but he should be credited with signing Jon Runyan Jr., Devin Singletary, Jermaine Eluemunor and others. The Brian Burns trade was electric too.

With that said, Hard Knocks giving us all a look at how things went down with Barkley is causing some division among the fanbase. On one side, people are happy Barkley is gone, but on the other, some people are furious with how Schoen and Mara handled things. The clip above surely tells us which side of things Cowherd is on.
