It's only OTAs and we are still a few months away from the regular season getting here, but the comeback campaign is on for NY Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. Still recovering from his torn ACL, Jones has been limited this offseason, but he's still doing his best to impress.

Take the latest practice session for example. Despite it not being live action, Jones stood tall in the pocket and delivered what looked to be a 40-yard bomb to wideout Isaiah Hodgins. The ball was on the money and Hodgins was able to come down with a sweet grab too:

It may just be 7-on-7 work, but people have been begging Jones to take more downfield shots for many years now. Yes, we don't want to get too excited about his play in June, but with all the bashing this poor guy takes, let's at least give him some props when he does something right.

Jones will obviously have more opportunities to silence people once September gets here. Come Week 1, the Giants will take on the Minnesota Vikings in what should be a thrilling contest. J.J. McCarthy was once rumored to be the long-term Jones replacement, but he's in Minnesota instead.

Nothing would feel better for Jones than to start the new campaign off red hot. The last time he took on the Vikings was in Minnesota in the Wild Card Round during the 2022 season. In that game, Jones tossed for more than 300 yards and two touchdowns - that performance was a big reason he was able to talk his way into a $160 million extension.

With the way the QB market has exploded, Joe Schoen had little choice but to take a gamble on Jones, one that hasn't gone according to plan thus far. However, if Jones can somehow find a way to get back to his '22 form, then maybe the extension won't be totally worthless after all. For now, we can just sit back and enjoy this Jones to Hodgins completion and hope that more of the same will be on the way once the regular season arrives.
