Watch John Michael Schmitz steal the show at Rangers game with epic beer chug
Life sure is good for NY Giants center John Michael Schmitz these days. Recently, he got married to the love of his life in the Bahamas, going viral after the two entered the reception with a snap for the ages. It was priceless.
Then, Schmitz has gone viral once again thanks to his behavior at Madison Square Garden watching the New York Rangers take on the Winnipeg Jets. While the Rangers suffered a 4-2 loss at MSG, Schmitz was able to help local fans smile with an awesome beer chug that was featured on the jumbotron. Take it away, JMS:
John Michael Schmitz chugging a beer at the Rangers game was awesome
That's how you get the crowd off of its feet. That was some solid form from the second-year lineman too, as he had no trouble at all taking that beer to the face. He needed only a few seconds to get the job done and people were cheering their heads off.
Checking in at 6-4, 320 pounds, it should be no surprise to see Schmitz be able to crush a beer with ease like that. The youngster is enjoying his time off this offseason and rightfully so. Once it's time to put the pads on, Schmitz will be ready to take care of business and help the Giants offensive line (hopefully) do a 180 starting with Week 1.
While Schmitz had a strong rookie season, the OL as a whole was brutal to watch, giving up a league-worst 85 sacks. However, general manager Joe Schoen has prioritized adding key playmakers up front in free agency already, highlighted by guard Jon Runyan Jr. and a potential Evan Neal replacement at right tackle in Jermaine Eluemunor.
At center, though, the Giants have absolutely nothing to worry about, as Schmitz will be primed to have a strong sophomore campaign. In the meantime, he's enjoying time as a newly married man and putting on a show when it comes to downing adult beverages with a crowd watching. Keep doing your thing, JMS.
