Way too early 2024 NFC East Power Rankings
2. Philadelphia Eagles
Yes, the Dallas Cowboys lost a shocking home game in the playoffs, but the Philadelphia Eagles' collapse in 2023 has them reeling as they enter the offseason - and behind Dak Prescott’s squad. The Eagles looked like a shell of the Super Bowl contending team we saw over the last year during the second half of the season.
Jalen Hurts regressed as a passer, and the team’s offense couldn’t seem to get going in any fashion. Major changes were made within the Eagles’ coaching staff, although Nick Sirianni will return for 2024. Enter Kellen Moore on offense and Vic Fangio on defense.
While they’re not exactly young, exciting hires, the Eagles tried that in 2023 to no avail. Fangio should improve the defense after one season in Miami, but the jury remains out on Moore, who spent many seasons in Dallas before coaching Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers’ offense in 2023.
Philadelphia has some holes to fill, specifically on defense and along the offensive line if Jason Kelce confirms his retirement, but Howie Roseman has proven to be one of the league’s best at doing so. The ending to 2023 left a bad taste in their mouth, but Philadelphia isn’t going away in 2024.
