When is the NFL trade deadline?

Each and every year, there's plenty of speculation as to whether or not a groundbreaking NFL trade will go down before the deadline. Last fall, there were plenty of rumors that NY Giants running back Saquon Barkley would potentially get dealt.

With Barkley back on an adjusted franchise tag, some more rumors are sure to be fired up this fall. However, he's not going to be the only star player that fans will be hoping their team goes after. With that said, when is the NFL trade deadline for the 2023 season?

NFL trade deadline for the 2023 season is Oct. 31

Come Halloween on Oct. 31, teams will have until 4 p.m. ET to beat the NFL trade deadline. That day, which comes on a Tuesday, is sure to be filled with plenty of drama. As we mentioned above, there's always intrigue on deadline day with playmakers being linked to several teams.

Some surprise squads could be in the middle of a fantastic year and look to add some missing pieces long before the postseason arrives. On the other side of things, some squads could be looking to sell and get some draft picks for their standouts in order to build for the future.

It's far too early to tell how things might play out once late October rolls around, but we know for sure that several general managers will be working overtime to try and make some magic happen. it happens every year and 2023 isn't going to be any different.
