Losing Xavier McKinney for a large chunk of the 2022 campaign sure was tough for NY Giants head coach Brian Daboll. McKinney suffered his serious hand injury, which almost led to him losing multiple fingers, following an ATV accident suffered in Mexico during the BYE week.

McKinney was able to work his way back late in the season, but he wasn't playing at full health. That won't be the case moving forward, though, as McKinney revealed that he's feeling great and that his injured hand is giving him zero issues. This is massive for the NY defense ahead of the 2023 campaign.

Giants safety Xavier McKinney has fully recovered from his hand injury

""I'm a hundred percent for sure. As far as being a hindrance, it wasn't really hindering at all to me. Obviously, I mean, you guys saw the games that I played with the cast. I was still able to make a huge impact on the games, and I think if you turn on that film, you see that. I didn't see any hindrance. I don't know if maybe y'all did, but I definitely didn't. I still played at a high level." "

That quote from McKinney is fantastic. You just knew he was furious at himself after the ATV accident, as it resulted in him only being able to play in nine regular season games in '22. However, he worked his way back and made an impact when he was needed.

With Julian Love now with the Seattle Seahawks, McKinney will need to step up as a leader for the safeties room - matter of fact, he needs to be a leader for the defense as a whole. He battled plenty of adversity last campaign, but he's got high hopes for next fall and winter.

Fortunately for head man Brian Daboll and defensive coordinator Wink Martindale, nothing will be holding McKinney back. Him being back to 100 percent is sure to excite the fanbase.
