For the third straight game, the New York Giants have lost. For the third straight game, rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart has been left on an island to do everything himself. For the third straight game, the defense has allowed 30-plus points. When are we going to start holding the guilty parties accountable?
If the 33-point fourth quarter collapse in Denver didn't sell you on change, maybe the 38-point defensive lapse against the Philadelphia Eagles could. But if neither of those did, let me introduce you to Big Blue's most recent indictment of defensive coordinator Shane Bowen, their 34-24 Week 9 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Bowen's defense can't stop a nosebleed. They are constantly missing tackles, blowing coverages, and can't play a gap to save their lives. It's infuriating, but the loss to San Fran is so much more than another loss, and it should be the final nail in the 38-year-old's coffin.
Giants have obvious Shane Bowen-sized problem staring them in the face
It takes a special defensive coordinator to ignore a player like star running back Christian McCaffrey, but Bowen did so effortlessly.
The 29‑year‑old finished with 106 rushing yards and 67 receiving yards, totaling two touchdowns — one on the ground, one through the air. Yes, he’s incredibly talented, but doing nothing to limit him? That was by choice.
Several times, there was no one within yards of him. You'd think he'd be a focal point or something, but who am I to question the leader of the league's worst rushing defense?
Additionally, Bowen's defense made backup quarterback Mac Jones look like Tom Brady out there on Sunday afternoon. Jones completed 19-of-24 passes for 235 yards, two touchdowns, and a 135.2 quarterback rating. This is all while the Niners had their top two wide receivers out with injuries.
If 25 games haven’t made it obvious, let’s spell it out: the Giants have a Shane Bowen problem. With this 34‑point effort, the group has now allowed 30‑plus points in eight of his 25 games as Big Blue’s defensive coordinator. Something’s got to give. It’s infuriating watching the same exact thing unfold week after week with nothing being done about it.
