The New York Giants have something special in rookie quarterback sensation Jaxson Dart. With each passing week, he looks more and more comfortable under center. But don't just take my word for it. Take Tom Brady's.
Arguably the most sought-after opinion by anyone who's played on the gridiron, the greatest player to ever step foot on a football field had some truly awesome things to say about Big Blue's 22-year-old signal caller. Appearing on NFL Fox Sunday before kickoff, the GOAT-turned-$375-color commentator gassed up Dart, and what he said will send Giants fans into a mini freakout:
"He's got all of those QB1 traits I look for. What I like is all the things that come out of his mouth. I always look at quarterbacks and go, ‘How would I answer that question?’ When I hear Jaxson Dart, especially after last week's loss in Denver, it was the same way. He took accountability for the mistakes. He's also just this competitive kid."Tom Brady
Say less, Tom. If there's anyone who understands the position and what it takes to succeed, it's the 48-year-old. Known as one of the baddest competitors ever, getting that kind of shoutout from the future Hall of Famer is special.
Tom Brady sees something real in Giants rookie Jaxson Dart
You can see it. He's poised beyond his years. The way he sits in the pocket and dissects what the defense gives him is next-level. He's got a good arm, elite playmaking ability, and a resiliency to deliver under pressure.
But that's not to say he's perfect. The Ole Miss standout still needs to avoid rookie mistakes, adapt to a more pro-style offense, and work on analyzing pre-snap reads and NFL defenses in general. But the bones are clearly there.
Unfortunately, Dart's QB1 traits haven't exactly translated to much winning. He's 2-3 as the starter, but that doesn't mean New York doesn't have a dude. Because they absolutely do.
It's been a minute, but Giants fans finally have a quarterback to be excited about. There's genuine buzz around him becoming the next franchise great, and comments like Brady's make it all feel so much more real.

The postgame comments that Brady alluded to are nice, and taking accountability is important, but at the end of the day, he'll only be judged on his ability to win. His box score stats won't blow anyone away, but he's been able to do a lot with a little. He's thrown for 984 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions, adding 195 yards and four scores on the ground.
Week 8 was another loss for Dart, and with the team sitting at 2-6, his rookie season has all but slipped away. Still, if he's impressing the likes of Tom Brady, the Giants might be willing to punt on a season for a decade-plus of success with their next franchise quarterback.
