Despite the outcome of Sunday's 40-37 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, there were a lot of things to be optimistic about for the New York Giants, specifically on offense.

Yes, the Giants lost this game and fell to 0-2, and that's not necessarily something Big Blue fans should be proud of; however, this team showed us some things they haven't shown us in what feels like forever.

There’s no doubt Brian Daboll won’t take pride in the Giants’ defense allowing 40 points... or in the red-zone failures, or the barrage of penalty flags that went in Dallas’ favor. Still, once the G-Men figured it out offensively, this player stepped up in a big way, making several flashy plays and giving us a reason to believe in a better future.

Malik Nabers continues to prove why he is so important to the Giants

You guessed it, I'm talking about Malik Nabers. We saw great performances from several players on offense, including Russell Wilson, Wan'Dale Robinson, and Cam Skattebo, but the second-year wide receiver stood out the most, providing Big Blue with unreal highlights that ultimately proved clutch, leading up to the team's overtime loss.

Nabers totaled nine receptions on 13 targets for 167 yards and two touchdowns, including a 29-yard strike from Wilson, which was the G-Men's first touchdown of the game. Speaking of clutch, he also had the go-ahead 48-yard touchdown with thirty seconds remaining in regulation, which was an absolute moonball from Russ.

The last time the Giants put up 37 points or more was last season in a 45-33 Week 17 victory at home against the Indianapolis Colts. You don't see this team score as much as you'd like to, so although the result was not the outcome the G-Men wanted, this gave Big Blue fans a lot to feel good about for the future of this franchise. This game also gave us a glimpse as to what this team can do against its biggest rivals, who have had their number for seemingly forever.

The focus now shifts to Week 3, as the Giants return home to face the reigning AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs, who also come in at 0-2, on Sunday Night Football. It won’t be an easy matchup by any means, so they’ll need Nabers to step up and all the help they can get.
