Report: “Favre May Skate”

facebooktwitterreddit

According to Peter King yesterday, he thinks Brett Favre may not be disciplined for the whole Jenn Sterger situation. “Farve May Skate” is what King wrote:

"Nothing’s certain yet. But I’m hearing, as I said on NBC Sunday night, that it’s likely Brett Favre won’t be suspended for his alleged contact with former Jets sideline host Jenn Sterger, and he may not get sanctioned for it at all. The league is expected to announce a decision on Favre either this week or next — I hear commissioner Roger Goodell wants to have the case adjudicated internally before the end of the season, so any discipline the league wants to impose could be doled out before the likely end of Favre’s career."

Now a new report has surfaced today that claims the NFL is not returning phone calls about Sterger-gate.  So they’ve advanced the story.  Aside from being an incredibly unfortunate situation for everyone involved, the Giants may end up benefiting.  Farve is banged up and has had an off year, I think whatever happens with Sterger will only distract him further from his next task.  And it sounds like NFL has now stepped in by not commenting and has hit the timing exactly right to provide even more distraction from the NY Giants game this weekend.
