Each week during the season I will run a full simulation of the Giants game. All Madden, 15 minute quarters, injuries and depth charts up to date to the best of my ability. So with that said, here’s the Madden 25 Week 5 Recap:

Cutler Spreads the Wealth, Beats Giants 37-27

The Giants defense became the first in NFL history to surrender 30+ points in the first 6 games of their season.

Although they sacked Cutler 4 times and intercepted him once, he was still red hot throughout the game.

#6 finished 27-35 for 403 yards and 3 TDs.

He hit 8 different targets:

  • Brandon Marshall had 7 for 142 and 1.
  • Earl Bennett had 5 for 77 and 1.
  • Jeffery had 8 for 84.
  • Martellus Bennett had 2 for 86.
  • FB Tony Flammetta had 2 for 9
  • Back up RB Michael Bush had 1 for 5
  • Back up TE Steve Maneri had 1 for 8.
  • Even 4th string wide receiver Joe Anderson got in the mix with a 6 yard TD reception.

Matt Forte was held to only 68 yards on 18 carries, an accomplishment for the Giants defense.

Eli Manning was sacked 4 times as well but was also picked off 3. One coming on the goal line in the 1st quarter by a diving Zack Bowman.

#10 finished the game 30 for 43 with 337 yards and only 1 TD.

Rueben Randle added 10 more receptions on to his season total for 84 yards.

It was Louis Murphy however that got the score while having 3 receptions for 41 yards.

Brandon Jacobs ran with emotion in his first start this season. 20 carries for 75 yards and 2 TDs.

Da’Rel Scott contributed 22 yards off of 4 carries.

Corey Wootton had himself a day against rookie right tackle Justin Pugh racking up 4 tackles (3 for a loss) and 2 sacks.

Robbie Gould did plenty of damage on his own going 5-6.

Josh Brown had the better percentage however going 2-2.

Surprise, surprise, Madden is 5-0. Only reason to be hopeful this year is that the rest of the NFC East has had a hard time winning as well. A win still keeps us in the mix, but that is a a long shot. Have a feeling Madden goes 6-0.
