Giants Trash Talk Themselves Into Loss.

A week full of trash talk ended with a 24-21 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, dreams of playoffs crushed.

Dez Bryant came up big when his team needed him most, converting two first downs on 3rd down plays during the final drive.

Center Jim Cordle went down in the 2nd quarter. Giants moved Boothe to center, and Brewer to left guard.

The Giants offense was carried by the two running backs. Andre Brown had 21 carries for 127, Jacobs 9 for 75.

In the game, two Giants drives that started inside the 10 stalled and ended in field goals.

Cruz was all but shut out, only having 2 catches for 27 yards. One reception ended in a fumble that was returned for a TD by Dallas.

Quick Blow by Blow:

First 4 drives of the game were punts.

Rolle picked off a Romo pass intended for Bryant. Cruz stripped for TD on Giants drive.

In the 2nd quarter, Randle drew a P.I. call on the 9 but the Giants could not take advantage, ending the drive with a field goal. 7-3.

Dallas took the ball and drove down the field with big DeMarco Murray runs and capped it off with a play action pass to Witten. 14-3

Brandon Jacobs had a 37 yard run on the following drive to the Dallas 4, but yet again drive ended in a FG. 14-6.

In the 3rd quarter, T2 stripped Beasley of the ball and it was recovered by the Giants, but Kiwi roughed Romo with a hit that was up high. Cowboys took advantage and found Witten again for the TD 21-6.

Giants ensuing drive ended in bizarre fashion with a 4th down conversion to Brandon Myers. He caught the ball, rolled onto the ground and was not touched. He got up and ran to the endzone for a 27 yard TD. 21-13.

Giants ran the ball down the field on their last drive. On 3rd down Cruz caught a ball for 22 yards to the 5. After a 2 yard run by Jacobs, Eli found Louis Murphy in the back corner of the endzone. Brown ran the ball in for the 2pt conversion off of a draw play.

Dallas got the ball with 4:45 left and drove down the field. Tony Romo picked apart the secondary with barely feeling any pressure, setting up a game winning 35 yard field goal for Bailey.

With the loss, the Giants hopes of getting into the playoffs are all but diminished. Nicks not playing  definitely hurt the team, allowing a ton of focus to be put on Cruz.
