The New York Giants have a void to fill at tight end. If the draft isn’t the road to the answer, then which free agent tight ends should the Giants consider?

Roughly a year after Jerry Reese invested $200 million to solidify the defense, the New York Giants are in search of answers on offense. Though there may be higher priorities, one could argue that no position is weaker than tight end.

Following a 2016 season of underwhelming production from the Giants’ tight ends, it stands to reason that Reese may attempt to sign a player in free agency.

New York re-signed young tight ends Matt LaCosse and Will Tye to provide depth at the position. The widespread expectation, however, is that the Giants will look to solidify the position through either the draft or free agency.

Fortunately, one of the few positions that isn’t underwhelming in free agency is tight end—meaning there are options to consider.

In some instances, the available free agents are playmakers who can help New York improve its aerial attack. In others, the players are known for their blocking ability and would thus help the Giants improve their abysmal rushing attack.

The question is: who are the best available free agent tight ends and what are the odds that New York takes a chance on acquiring them?
