Draft Week: Top LB Candidates
By author
The fifth of the Top 5 LB’s in the 2011 NFL Draft is Bruce Carter. Carter has a higher Draft stock than Martez Wilson, but just barely. Considering that Carter did not participate in the NFL Combine, aside from the bench press drill, and tore his ACL back in November, his stock is surprisingly high. His style of playing is a little too much on the patient side. He seems to be more of a coverage back and run stopper, not so much a pass rusher. Whatever speed he had before is moot now after his ACL injury. It will be interesting to see how he progresses in training camp. He will go in the 2nd round to the Tampa Bay Bucaneers.
Bruce Carter:
6′ 2″
241 lbs.
NFL Combine Stats: 40 Time: Did not participate. 6th in Bench Press (the only Combine drill he competed in).
