Each week during the season I will run a full simulation of the Giants game. All Madden, 15 minute quarters, injuries, and depth charts up to date to the best of my ability. So with that said, here’s the Madden 25 Week 11 Recap:
Eli, Andre, and the Giants Make it 4 Straight, Win 56-16.
After a very dismal season thus far, Eli Manning was almost perfect on Sunday afternoon.
The Captain at quarterback threw 39 passes, completing 32 of them. The damage dealt: 432 yards, 5 touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
Victor Cruz shined the brightest out of all the wide receivers grabbing 9 receptions for 143 yards and 4 TDs. (4 TDs is one less than the NFL record)
It was not only Cruz who was catching the ball here’s the breakdown:
- Randle 7 for 92
- Nicks 6 for 89
- Myers 5 for 63 and 1
- Murphy 3 for 24
Andre Brown backed up his previous showing with another solid game, racking up 3 TDs and 151 yards off of 26 carries.
The offense as a whole made it a perfect 7 for 7 in the redzone. All TDs.
In Scott Tolzien’s first career start, he went 29 for 41 for 325 yards and 0 TD’s. Unfortunately the defense could not grab an interception.
Packers receiving play makers broke down like this:
- James Jones 9 for 131.
- Jordy Nelson 6 for 80.
- Jarrett Boykin 3 for 45.
Giants defense shut down another top running back in Eddie Lacy this week. The ROY favorite was held to just 32 yards on 8 carries and a TD. However, Lacy was able to escape out of the backfield for 5 receptions totaling 29 yards.
The Packers were 3-4 in the redzone with 1 TD and 2 FG.
The Defense
The biggest defensive play of the game came with 5:36 left in the 2nd quarter. Down 21-10, the Packers had first and goal on the Giants 1 yard line. Eddie Lacy took a hand off and ran left with nothing but endzone ahead. Antrel Rolle came out of no where and planted Lacy at the line of scrimmage, preventing the touchdown. The Packers ended up settling for a field goal due to a sack and another stuffed run.
Without JPP, the Giants still put heat on Tolzien. They reached the quarterback 4 times, Tuck with 3 sacks, and Kiwi got there.
Eli was planted twice by players in the secondary, once by cornerback Davon House, and another time by safety Jerron McMillian.
Mason Crosby went 3-3 after missing two field goals last week against Philly.
Game Notes: I did not play JPP due to his status with his shoulder. Started Kiwi with Jenkins as a backup, Moore backed up Tuck. Webster did not start either considering he is ruled out. I started Will Hill over Ryan Mundy because I saw Hill in the game before Mundy last week, however without the threat of a running QB, it may be different come game time.
The record for Madden vs The Giants Season is now 8-1. The win over Oakland last week proved Madden right once again, and got the Giants their 3rd win of the season. Let’s hope the Giants follow in Madden’s footsteps once again and make it 4 straight!
