The National Football League has officially announced the preseason dates for the upcoming season. While preseason games can be seen as glorified opportunities for the backups, it is the first real football action that fans are able to see after months of laboring through the dreaded offseason.

For this reason, fans are still interested in seeing their favorite teams play, even though all the stars will only play a few snaps. This preseason is also going to be used as a testing area for a new NFL rule the league would like to experiment with: moving the PAT (extra point kick) from the 2-yard line to the 25-yard line. This was first proposed by Patriots head coach, Bill Belichick.

The New York Giants have the dubious honor of playing in the Hall of Fame game against the Buffalo Bills. The Jints will also be playing the Pittsburgh Steelers (week 1), Indianapolis Colts (week 2), New York Jets (week 3) and the Philadelphia Eagles (week 4).
