Eli Manning started off the day a little shaky, but after his first couple of throws he seemed to settle in and was really throwing the ball well.  I also noticed new offensive coordinator, Ben McAdoo, spent a lot of time talking with Eli early in practice. There seemed to be confusion on a few plays, which is to be expected as the team is installing a completely new offense.

Another interesting moment, which I think highlights the difference in offensive philosophy with this new staff, was when Ryan Nassib was running drills against the scout team — the coaches on the sidelines could clearly be heard yelling “tempo, tempo, tempo” at him, as they felt he was taking too long on the line.  I think Giants’ fans are going to love the up tempo style of this new offense.

After the offense did some light work, there was some punt return work going on in front of me.  Rookie Odell Beckham Jr., who sat out most of practice with a hamstring injury, did take part in catching punts.  He “wooed” the crowd a bit with a fancy one-handed catch, following a one handed catch by Victor Cruz; however, I think Tom Coughlin would rather see the rookie taking snaps during real drills then making fancy catches on punts.  It is easy to see why coach Coughlin is already getting fed up with the first round pick.
