The New York Giants, along with every other team in the NFL, need to cut down their roster to 53 players by 4 PM EST today.

The GMEN began with 75 players, and a flurry of moves have already been leaked.  Here is a look at some of the moves the Giants are expected to make by 4 PM today (note: most of these moves will not be official until then and some players could be traded instead of cut).

Sixth round pick, cornerback Bennett Jackson, expected to be waived.

Undrafted free agent, Kelcy Quarles, tweets he will not be making the roster, but will have a spot on the practice squad.

Quarles flashed often and I thought he had an outside shot to make the team. He would be a great practice squad stash for the Giants. The Giants are going to cut tight end Kellen Davis who ran with the first teamers in the Giants last pre-season game against the New England Patriots. This was one of the biggest surprises to me, as I thought he performed very well in training camp. However, it looks like the Giants might try and re-sign him after their week one game according to Jordan Raanan of NJ.com. Veteran fullback John Connor has been cut, which most likely means Henry Hynoski’s shoulder injury isn’t serious.

Undrafted free agent linebacker, Dan Fox, from Notre Dame will be cut.

Mario Manningham and Trindon Holliday will both be placed on injured reserve. Veteran defensive end, Israel Idonije, who was impressive on special teams since being brought in by the Giants will be cut:

Like Kellen Davis, the Giants could look to re-sign Idonije after week one:

Curtis Painter waived, paving the way for Ryan Nassib to be Eli Manning’s back-up

Undrafted free agent defensive end from James Madison, Jordan Stanton, will be cut, but is a prime practice squad candidate due to his strong pre-season

Running back Kendall Gaskins has been released.

Defensive back Thomas Gordon will be cut.
