 5. Contract Extensions 

Eli Manning and Prince Amukamara both have a year left on their contracts. It would be wise for the Giants to extend both of these players. Manning had a bounce back year and proved that he could run Ben McAdoo’s new West Coast style offense effectively. Manning had not put up numbers that good since his Super Bowl run in 2011.

Amukamara finally had his break out year and looked like the cornerback the Giants imagined he would be. He proved that he could be a full-time starter. Extending both of them would be good for the team and good for the cap.

Even though Jason Pierre-Paul was franchise tagged, that doesn’t mean the Giants can’t still sign him to a long-term deal as well. The franchise tag he signed is nonexclusive. The tag is doing some damage to the cap, so it would be no surprise if a long-term deal were banged out in the coming months.
