Michigan State cornerback, Trae Waynes, is widely recognized as the best cornerback prospect in the upcoming draft. His long hair and play style reminds me a little bit of all-pro cornerback, Richard Sherman.
Waynes excels in man-to-man coverage and is one of those “island” cornerbacks that you can stick on a receiver and ask for little to no help. Waynes stock only improved when he ran the fastest time at the combine for any cornerback.
In a league where shutdown cornerbacks are so vital, Waynes could be a tough player for the Giants to pass on. It looks like he’ll be available at the Giants 9th overall spot. Though since he is so highly coveted, as the top corner this is not a guarantee.
Waynes is without a doubt the most complete cornerback in the 2015 NFL Draft class. He has top 10 talent.
