5. Jesse James, Penn State

We’re going to start off the list with Penn State’s Jesse James who could be a major boost for any NFL team. James, a junior, believes he’s big league material as he proves to be with his speed and fearlessness on the gridiron. James has no trouble going up for the ball even when defenders are crowding him, a trait every tight end needs.

In this position, you need to be physical along with having good hands. His awareness on the angles and cut moves are comparable to Buffalo Bills’ Scott Chandler, which isn’t a bad name to be compared to. James felt its his time to shine when Sunday comes around as his collegiate career needed to come to an end. James started every game for the past two years with  Penn State and in total grabbed 78 receptions for 1,005 yards scoring 11 touchdowns.

There is a bit of a weak side to James’ game when it comes to getting down the field with the ball. He was also inconsistent at times and was invisible in the passing game, but is a great option when he’s open. His physical stature his NFL ready, but it’s up to James to stay consistent as that is the main quality an NFL squad needs.
