The New York Giants are taking care of business in the 2015 NFL Draft. First the Giants select a powerful offensive tackle in Ereck Flowers from Miami. Than the Giants trade up and draft Landon Collins to start the second round. The Giants then drafted Owamagbe Odighizuwa in the third round. What do the Giants still need to do in rounds 4-7?
The Giants have three needs remaining. First they need to address concerns at the linebacker position. It wouldn’t hurt to draft a wide receiver that could contribute, especially if Victor Cruz isn’t back to his Pro Bowl form in 2015. The Giants also want to look to find a tight end to pair with Larry Donnell.
At the linebacker position, it has become slim pickings. I was hoping that the athletic Paul Dawson would last until the fourth round, but the Bengals swooped him up with their compensatory pick. The best linebacker available would be Georgia’s Ramik Wilson.

Wilson has the size and looks the part of a 4-3 outside linebacker. Wilson is 6-2 and weighs 237 pounds. If there is a starting caliber linebacker remaining, it is him. Wilson though isn’t a great tackler and he may have to be taken off the field in sub packages. The athletic ability is there, but he is a major coaching project.
At the wide receiver position there are still several players that could contribute to the Giants offensive success. Stefon Diggs from Maryland is one of the most underrated players in this draft class, if he can stay on the field he can make plays. Tre McBride from William and Mary has a lot of talent. It would be foolish to count out smaller but productive receivers like Jamison Crowder or Justin Hardy.
At the tight end position there are no game changers. Two big bodied guys that I like though are Nick Boyle from Delaware and Jesse James from Penn State. James especially is intriguing because of his 6-7 frame and his 37.5 inch vertical jump.
There are still some players that can come into the Giants organization and contribute right away at key positions. Stay up with everything Giants draft, with us here at GMENHQ.
