After about pick 20 in the 1st-round, the only player I kept checking to see if he was still on the board was Randy Gregory. I kept thinking, “there’s no way he fell this far, right?” After all, he was projected to be a top 5 pick about a month or two ago.
Well, Gregory fell to the 60th overall pick in the draft to none other than the Dallas Cowboys (That’s frustrating). His length, athleticism and size are daunting to go along with his pass rushing abilities. His ability to play the run and some of his off-field issues might have led to his slide in the draft.
Not only do the Giants lose out on possibly a transcendent talent, but he gets taken by the rival Cowboys in what seems to be one of the better value picks in the draft. I know trading back into the 2nd-round isn’t easy, but the skill set of Gregory is too good to pass up. I think the Giants made a big mistake on passing on him.
