New York Giants: Predicting the Sleeper Of The Year
The New York Giants have a very crowded offense this year. Their defense is a whole different story. It is lacking some playmakers which leaves a window of opportunity open for the second string players. However, no matter what way you put it, one particular player will stand out from the rest. In 2015, watch out for wide receiver Corey Washington to explode onto the scene.
I don’t even know how many times I heard Giants’ fans talk about this kid. Every hardcore fan knows who he is and knows what he is capable of. He lit up opposing defenses last season. Very similar to the way Victor Cruz did in his debut for the team. The Giants’ held back Washington last year for reasons no one understands. Maybe the coaches decided to hide their secret weapon.

Washington has the perfect opportunity to step up this year. A player of his caliber would thrive in the Giants’ offensive schemes. Especially since defenses will be paying attention to Cruz and Odell Beckham. Washington will be left all alone to make play after play. That is, until the defenses realize he’s not who they thought he was.
Washington will have a breakout year in 2015. When I say “breakout” I am talking about a serious increase in repetitions and numbers. I’m not saying he will have a 1,000-yard season or any idea along those lines.
He will put up numbers around 800 yards and six touchdowns. That is considered a breakout candidate considering where he’s coming from. Player’s take time to develop, and Washington will show his worth very quickly.
