Putting It All Together:
Donnell is a really good football player who is only going to get better. He isn’t quite in the conversation of the very top tight ends in the game of football. That very well could be the end game however for Donnell. Donnell has a big frame that is similar to some of the best tight ends such as Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham. With Manning throwing him the football and a talented offense around him, the sky is the limit for Donnell as a tight end.
Donnell had a productive but not jaw dropping 2014 season. It was indicative of better things to come. 63 receptions is pretty solid production, especially when there were many who didn’t even see him as the best tight end on the roster in the preseason.
The good news for Giants fans is much of Donnell’s problems in 2014 came because of his inexperience. There is nothing that Donnell struggles with that cannot be fixed by learning through experience or simply developing better technique with experience. There is so much potential still untapped by Donnell.
