1. His Production Was No Surprise:

Odell Beckham Jr. was part of a really special 2014 Draft Class of wide receivers. Other great receivers from that draft include Sammy Watkins and Mike Evans. Beckham Jr. has clearly started his NFL career off stronger than any of these wide receivers. This production shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. At LSU Beckham Jr. showed all the signs of being a star.

In college his numbers were good but they were nothing in comparison to his rookie year with the Giants. In Beckham Jr.’s third and final season of his LSU career he had 59 receptions for 1,152 yards and 8 touchdowns. In the previous two seasons Beckham Jr. had just over 40 receptions. You have to remember that Beckham Jr. shared the stage with really talented teammates like Jarvis Landry and the LSU Tigers were a run first football team. The numbers that were indicative of his future was the 19.5 yards per reception he had in the 2013 season. Beckham Jr. has always been a home run hitter, a receiver that can beat you deep or can make you miss with the football in the open field.

Beckham Jr. impressed at the 2014 NFL Combine. He ran a 4.38 second 40 yard dash and had a 38.5 inch vertical jump. What Beckham Jr. showed on tape however was amazing. It was evident that Beckham Jr. was a savvy football player who ran great routes that helped him create separation. Beckham Jr. was always going to be a superstar, it was evident ever since he stepped on the LSU campus. You might be surprised that he is this good already but we knew that he had this kind of potential.
