Shane Vereen:

While the Giants running backs will work as a committee, Shane Vereen has an opportunity to be the Giants biggest playmaker out of the backfield. Vereen is by far the most skilled receiving option the Giants have at the running back position. Vereen is a playmaker in the open field and covering him is a tough assignment for linebackers.

Vereen comes from the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. Vereen was Tom Brady’s safety valve in the passing game. He caught 77 receptions for the Patriots last season and provided an extra element to their offense. The Giants are looking for him to add that element to their offense. There is no doubting that Vereen is perfect for McAdoo’s west coast attack.

The Giants are filled with matchup nightmares all over the offense. The scary thing is that the Giants have even more weapons than I have even mentioned. And just about every season the Giants get key contributions from players you’d never expect it from. As long as the offensive line can play at least adequately the Giants should have an unstoppable offense.
