5. Eli Manning’s Contract Talks Are Still Nonexistent

One of the hottest stories of the Giants’ offseason has been Eli Manning’s contract extension. By the way it looks, he’s going into the season as a lame duck quarterback. That is one thing that many analysts say that is very irritating. Just because he’s going into the season with no contract does not mean the Giants aren’t going to sign him.

Manning is and always will be the quarterback for the Giants. On the off chance that he has a season ending injury, that may be a different story. Then there is a possibility of there being a potential change. However, that is very farfetched because Manning has been the Giants’ “Iron Man” holding the most active consecutive start streak in the NFL.

It is more probable than not that Manning gets his contract extended. What people don’t understand is that money comes first in sports. If Manning is demanding a price that’s too high for the Giants taste, they’ll just opt to franchise tag him.

Peyton Manning went into the season as a lame duck quarterback and was franchised soon after. It makes perfect sense because it’s a bargain and gives them time to work out a deal that both sides could agree on. Don’t expect Manning to get his contract before the 2015 season starts.
